Let’s get real. This is Pennsylvania. Unless you only run alongside the Susquehanna River, you will be running hills. Rockefeller Township in Northumberland County is a fine example of PA topography. You may not PR on these courses, but you will have a rural course with scarce road traffic, at the best time of year to enjoy the views. And you will have the pride of conquering some decent short climbs.
Note: the exact placement of the finish line in the parking lot will depend on a more accurate source than MapMyRun. We will start both races on the road, and use the same finish line. The 10k will rejoin the 5k route on 7 points road.
Volunteers will be stationed at all key places to provide for traffic safety. We do not have permits to close the roads entirely, but we do have township permission to conduct the race and provide traffic safety. This race director’s number one priority is always course safety. All traffic entering any section of this race will be stopped and informed of the presence of many runners.
